The Christian Student Center (CSC) is the outreach ministry of the Collegedale Church of Christ on the campus of Troy State University. Our goals include: 1) evangelize non-Christian students with whom we come in contact, 2) to encourage and strengthen those Christian students who come to college with a weak faith or lack of conviction and 3) challenge those who come to us as strong Christians and challenge them to become leaders and to develop their talents for use in the Kingdom. It is our desire to provide an environment in which everyone who participates is nurtured both socially and spiritually. The CSC and the resident members of Collegedale provide a home away from home for students, most of who are living away from their parents for the first time. We consider this ministry a privilege as well as a responsibility afforded us by living in a university town. A program of Bible study, devotionals, small group meetings, retreats and similar events are the primary tools we use to develop a bond of unity among the students as well as closer relationships with God. Financial support of the CSC is dual in nature. The Collegedale church provides funding for the minister who oversees the work and his office. Other funds, including those needed for purchasing and upkeep of the facility, operational expenses, resource speakers, equipment, etc. comes from other churches and individuals who recognize the value of this work.
