AUDIO/VIDEO PRODUCTION Leaders: James Barron (Deacon), This the ministry of filming our Sunday Morning Services and making them available for the two CATV channels here in Troy. Also involved is the filming and recording of special events and programs here at Collegedale.
BENEVOLENCE Leaders: Rick Fowler The Benevolence Program of the Collegedale Church helps both members of the Lord’s Church and people from the community. Each month people in need are served through the generosity of the Christians here. This is not done in order to garner personal glory or praise for ourselves, but to serve our fellow man as God has instructed us to do. One of the primary ways we endeavor to help is through the distribution of food to those who have need. Literally tons of food is given to those in need each year from this. This program has had a most favorable impact on the community. One of the things we would like to do is to seek out those in need and not merely be a response team for those who pass by. In order to do this we need the help of each of you, to keep us informed about those in our community who may have needs that we could possibly help with. There is no stigma attached to having to have help from time to time, so please don’t hesitate to call on us. Call the church office at 566-5110. Your requests will be handled as quickly and completely as we are able. Also we will protect your confidentiality to a “need to know” basis.
EDUCATION Leaders: Bobby Templin (Deacon)
Our Mission for the Education Department at Collegedale is to offer quality Bible instruction to members of all ages. We will continue to provide classes to our children and youth taught by willing and well-prepared members. We will also continue to offer multiple classes to our adult members as well as schedule an exciting VBS (Vacation Bible School) each year. This is not just for our members, but also for the community as well. Our goals for the future include offering a variety of practical classes for members; these will initially include family-oriented issues, financial management and leadership. The leadership classes will continue to include work with out Lads to Leaders program. Another goal is to begin using our own curriculum, by using the talents of our members to construct Biblical material for our classes. We are excited about our Education Department and look forward to its growth as our congregation continues to grow.
FACILITIES Leader: Jack Walters (Deacon) Johnny Mims (Deacon) This area of work has to do with maintenance of and improvements to the building and facilities. In order to maintain our wonderful facilities it takes a great deal of effort. Many volunteers actively assist in different ways to accomplish this unending and often unnoticed task. From time to time we may need to call for workdays here at the building. If you have special talents that can be used in this area, Jack wants to hear from you. We can all help by taking the best care of our property and encouraging others to do so.
FINANCE Leader:
The church treasurer’s job involves the following: * Create and maintain the church’s yearly budget. This is done by gathering input from the various department heads and by including the church’s on-going fixed costs, such as salaries, building payment, utilities, etc. Once the Elders have approved the budget, the treasurer monitors the contributions and expenditures to make sure the church is funding the budget. * Assists the church secretary as needed with the payment of bills, etc., and files various federal and state reports as needed. * Provides to the elders updates of the church’s current financial condition. * Upon request, discusses financial matters with members and department heads. Immediate Goal: Meet the present weekly budget of $3200.00 on a consistent basis. Short Term Goal: Pay off a substantial amount of the building loan. Suggested goal - $50,000.00. This kind of lump sum payment on the principle balance would save significant dollars in future interest payments. Long Term Goal: Work toward a significant increase in weekly individual contributions so we can easily handle ever increasing costs, underwrite desirable new programs. Such as funding one or more mission works and increasing our present level of benevolence.
GROUNDS Leader: In order to keep our outside property looking as good as it possibly can we must all help. It is a big job to see that the grass is cut, the shrubbery trimmed and the property picked up. So many of our members assist in this effort and it is greatly appreciated. This is an area that can always use more volunteers. Our property is among the most visible and often passed in the whole area. This means that we all should make a special effort to see that it is clean and neatly kept. From me to time we will call for extra help in some project or nother involving our grounds maintenance. Everyone’s cooperation is essential to insure that all the work gets done that needs to.

WORSHIP Leaders: Parker Messick (Deacon) Here at Collegedale Church of Christ, God has exceptionally blessed us with an abundance of members who are not only extremely talented and capable in a variety of areas, but more importantly have expressed their willingness and desire to participate in the Lord’s work here. Our goal as Worship Coordinators is two-fold: 1. To help place our members in areas in which their talents can be most beneficial to our worship assemblies. 2. To encourage new members as well as members who have expressed willingness to serve in new areas with opportunities to develop their talents through active participation in ministries of the local church.
